There are pros and cons to a tough schedule like PV has.....
Pros:
Prepares you better for offseason and competition for later down the road
Cons:
Starting 1-3 instead of 4-0 or 3-1 can really get in the heads of high school kids and shatter their confidence.
Injuries can tend to pile up more when playing in tougher games but not always
With the losses you can schedule your way right out of the playoffs and all that preparation for tougher competition later down the road means jack squat.
I am sure there are more but IMO the cons definitely outweight the pros for scheduling like that. I think there should be a happy medium

PV football is all about Phil's ego - there is no other consideration. He is an egomaniac. He has never developed any relationship with the kids there. He won't let his coaches coach, he is in a world all his own - and when he doesn't have the talent to cover for his inept coaching, they flounder. It's simple - he can't coach, he has no HR skills. He's a blundering idiot pure and simple.
plantsman either coached at PV or got chewed out by Robbins at some point in his life.
IMO, Robbins isn't the only person to blame for PV's record thus far. The talent isn't excatly the best that's ever come through there...the schedule is tough, and given that the Richlands game could have went either way, PV could easily be 2-2 right now. And, finally, PV doesn't have the greatest fans on the face of the earth. That being said, PV could still finish with as many as 7 wins or as little as 4. No team on PVs schedule is unbeatable..but sometimes as a player you have to reach down for that little extra and pull a game out. PV used to have players that would do that...nowdays it seems they (fans and players alike) are content to find an excuse for why they can't do it.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
